Backpack program

Once you have applied:

Please be patient as we collect responses. You may not receive a confirmation email until the end of July. All students who have applied should expect to pick up their backpack at their school's open house in August unless otherwise notified. Open house schedules will come from the school.

Homeschool, New Dimensions, and Morganton Day School students will pick up their backpack at Burke County United Way’s office; we will contact you directly to schedule a pick-up day and time.

Backpacks are pre-filled with school supplies:

Three no. 2 Pencils, three pens, ruler, pencil case, pencil sharpener, two erasers, a two pocket folder, glue stick, highlighter, spiral notebook, and a pack of five crayons.

The Backpack Program is a partnership of Burke County United Way and Burke County Public Schools.
